Craft Tube Binoculars

These craft tube binoculars that go along with June’s box, Hiking Day, by Anne Rockwell, is just a fun craft to encourage the little nature explorer in your child. Your child will want to play with these craft tube binoculars for hours!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  1. 2 Craft tubes or toilet paper rolls

  2. Hand Hole puncher

  3. String

  4. Popsicle Stick

  5. Glue

  6. Masking Tape (2 colors or patterns)

  7. A clothespin

Here’s What You’ll do:

  1. Punch a hole on one side of each craft tube towards the top (this is where your string will go)

  2. Take the masking tape and wrap the cardboard tubes with it. You can make stripes or wrap the tube entirely.

  3. With the hole facing toward the table, apply glue to the popsicle stick and place it on top of the tube. (You want the holes facing outward, not glued together) .Add more glue to the popsicle stick, and add the second cardboard tube on top, with the hole facing towards you.

  4. With help, clip the tubes and popsicle stick together. This will hold everything together while drying.

  5. Take the second roll of masking tape and wrap it around both tubes. Again, make any pattern you'd like.

  6. Next, tie the string, using the holes on each cardboard tube.

  7. Let everything dry for one hour.

Your craft binoculars are all ready for your next hiking adventure, exploring your backyard, and for endless fun!
